With Cannes now a distant memory and the thumping pulse of the summer blockbuster season keeping thoughts out of the year’s Oscar race, we thought it would be a good time to update our predictions. These post-Cannes selections also include some recent developments. Some films have developed stronger support, while others have faded. It’s still notable just how far apart we each are in terms of what we think will get nominated and what won’t.

Carol, Bridge of Spies and The Revenant seem to be the films we’re most in sync with in terms of Oscar potential. Eddie Redmayne’s performance in The Danish Girl is the lone item from a film not mentioned above we agree on. For the most part, we’re all over the place in Best Supporting Actor, but we seem to share a lot of similar thoughts regarding Best Actress.
