5 Favorites #56: 5 Favorite Child Actors

Every week, we’ll pose a new “five favorites” question. You just list your five favorites that fit in that category (preferably in preference order) and you’re welcome to discuss and debate the selections and see just how much you do or do not have in common with others. If you want to take a look back at our past articles to comment or enjoy, here is a post set aside to track all of our articles.

We’re still a few weeks away from my annual bout of Oscar Favorite lists (only because I can’t fill twelve weeks worth of polls. So, we’ll do a few more regular polls and shift to new territory. This week, we’ll look at child actors (not necessarily child performances, which may be a later poll)

What are your 5 Favorite child actors?

  1. Same list as Peter’s except I will substitute the following in place of Frankie Darro:

Brandon De Wilde (The Member of the Wedding; Shane)

  2. Narrowing it down to five is tough, so some random names:

Bobby Driscoll (The Window; Treasure Island ’50; Peter Pan ’53)
Henry Thomas (E.T.; Cloak & Dagger; Misunderstood; Raggedy Man)
Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense; A.I.; Pay It Forward)
Elijah Wood (Avalon; Forever Young; Adventures of Huck Finn ’93)
Christina Ricci (Mermaids; The Addams Family; The Ice Storm)

  3. Peggy Ann Garner (In Name Only; The Pied Piper; A Tree Grows in Brooklyn)
Roddy McDowall (How Green Was Valley; My Friend Flicka; The White Cliffs of Dover)
Dean Stockwell (The Green Years; The Boy with Green Hair; Kim)
Margaret O’Brien (Journey for Margaret; Meet Me in St. Louis; The Secret Garden)
Frankie Darro (The Mayor of Hell; Wild Boys of the Road; No Greater Glory)
