It is tradition for the acting winners (and formerly the Best Director winner) to show up the next year to present Oscars for the corresponding categories for the other gender. This year, three of last year’s four winning actors are scheduled to return this year.

Daniel Day-Lewis, who won the Oscar for Best Actor last year for his performance as Abraham Lincoln, will be presenting the Oscar to Cate Blanchett (most likely).

Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence will be back to present the Oscar for Best Actor. Her Oscar winning performance for Silver Linings Playbook was followed this year by a Best Supporting Actress nomination for American Hustle.

Anne Hathaway won Best Supporting Actress for her brief, but impactful role in Les Misรฉrables and will show up to present the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

The only one of last year’s winners not already announced is Christoph Waltz who won Best Supporting Actor for his role in Django Unchained last year. Whether he’ll show up to present Best Supporting Actress remains to be seen. So far, the Academy has only announced traditionally mandated nominees (song performers and prior acting winners). If they start announcing anyone not in these two groups, then it’s like Waltz won’t be showing up. The next announcement should be his.
