This poster is cleverly designed featuring a number of the film's images inside the main character's body. It encompasses the essence of the film through an eye-catching design.
An early year position suggests that this tale of British debate on the end of the slave trade may not be the quality film the preview would suggest. However, the trailer does make it seem like a baity, well-intentioned film about the abolishment of corporate greed in order to preserve freedom.
Period films released this early in the year is generally a sign of weakness. Period dramas often contend for the Costume Design and Art Direction awards, but being positioned so early in the year and not likely to be a box office success may doom this film at the Oscars.
I have not seen this film.
