Review:

Rocky? Is that you? Apart from the style of dozens of other boxing dramas, this poster's assault of yellow and orange is irrating. It does, however, distract from the poster's lack of creativity.

Review:

I can't help but look at this film and think we're going to be forced to watch dozens of quasi-inspirational films about former athletes who are looking to return to glory while facing their inner demons. It is nice to see Samuel L. Jackson given a role suitable to his talents.

Oscar Prospects:

A career nod for Jackson is possible, but doubtful. An August release date will all but assure the later releases of more attention.
