Instead of mixing live-action and animation, this poster gets it nearly write. While being unbearably yellow, the poster tells us all about the documentary without overwhelming us with details. The green on yellow, though quite popular (especially in Brazil), works where many other color combos haven't this year.
I can't say that the idea of watching a documentary about corn production is very exciting, but living in the Midwest, I know how crucially important the crop is to a lot of farms (even if my area's more accustomed to pigs than corn). Although they don't seem to mention it, the likelihood of statements about ethanol manufacturing could make this a better film than I anticipate.
In a highly-charged political climate, a lesser political-statement docu like this could be just what Oscar ordered. Though it's likely the film won't be considered, the possibility remains.
I have not seen this film.
