This poster seems a little too joyous for the subject matter. The smiling oppressed at the bottom masks the film's true object: to show how six individuals tried to bring world attention to and try to stop the atrocities in The Sudan's Darfur region.

Review:

For being the film I thought would be an Oscar contender, the trailer sure is unexceptional. We understand quickly what the documentary's about, but there's little real excitement or urgency in the preview.

Oscar Prospects:

I'm torn now, while the subject matter would be right up the Academy's alley, the trailer does not give me hope that the film will be any good. It's not terribly controversial-looking and not particularly interesting. I still think it could be a force, but not if it can't manage some critics' awards.
