The poster isn't terribly engaging. Over-accentuating the film's thespian notables won't necessarily endear an audience to tossing down money. It does at least capture the essence of the film's theme and its dusky title.
I can't quite make sense of the real plot of the film, but that could be a good thing. The little bits of drama and performance contained in this first trailer strike me strongly. I think this might end up being a good film as long as the story is as compelling as the talent.
With names like Toni Collete, Vanessa Redgrave, Meryl Streep and Glenn Close attached, you can't help but get the sense that this could be an Oscar contender. It does seem a bit too much like The Hours in its past-and-present style, but that could work in the film's favor.
I have not seen this film.
