Put a large size Hilary Swank on the poster to remind audiences who's in it then put her as an overwhelming presence above five of the film's students and you have a poster that is as clever as the film's premise.
Inspirational films about ethnic diversity meets the standard classroom boost-up story as Hilary Swank plows her way through yet another disaster. She either picks well or picks poorly. This type of story didn't work for Michelle Pfeiffer, why would it work well for her?
Female teachers don't get the respect that male ones do. Oscar shined on Edward James Olmos, Richard Dreyfuss and Ryan Gosling. Even if the Academy wanted to recognize Swank again, this isn't the film for which to do such.
I have not seen this film.
