I don't get the color choice here. It's a bit distracting and while it barely makes the balloon sailing through the air and John Cusack stand out, even the clever use of the escaping balloon as a metaphor for lost innocence can't save it from being a wreck.
Cusack gives the kind of performance we haven't seen in some time. The film looks much like other war-themed films, but it may be Cusack's talent that buoy the film to higher recognition.
Cusack is a certain Oscar contender, but he's the only hope for this film.
I have not seen this film.
