Review:

This 2006 entry to the Academy's foreign language film competition from Bosnia and Herzegovina does have some promise in the length of its trailer. There are a lot of compelling shots but the narrative doesn't seem as strong as we'd like it and there is a brief segment that gives you an idea what may transpire by the film's close.

Oscar Prospects:

Since it didn't make the final five, Grbavica is eligible for the Oscars in other categories. However, if the mainstream-minded foreign language branch can't see to give it a nomination, then its chances are slim.
