On an overgrown set of train tracks, persumably still in use, a young boy perilously walks towards the audience. We know from the trailer what this means but the poster only covers one scene from the film and not likely the most poignant or effective one.
It's interesting how films from other countries tend to evoke emotion in their subject matters whereas American films tend to focus on the humor or action. This one looks like it might be compelling but a lot will depend on how good young Kolya Spiridonov is.
It could pick up a nomination at the Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film but it is unlikely to figure in any other race.
I have not seen this film.
