Review:

It's hard to discribe how I at one time both like and dislike this poster. It uses similar colorations to other posters, but it's intriguing nonetheless. The Chinese character on the background would mean more to me if I knew what it stood for. Otherwise, there's nothing exceptional about the poster.

Review:

Ang Lee has a long history of intriguing films where love plays a pivotal role. There is always a sense of betrayal between lovers in those films. Herein we have betrayal leading to love instead of the other way around. This interesting twist increases my desire to see this latest film.

Oscar Prospects:

Lee's foreign language entries have long been a prominent part of Oscar history. Whether this qualifies to be submitted as a foreign entry, we could see another film following in the wake of his The Wedding Banquet, Eat Drink Man Woman, Sense and Sensibility, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and Brokeback Mountain proved that the Academy does love him. Too bad they couldn't have been a little more friendly to his The Ice Storm.
