Review:

The black-and-white makes this seem like a throwback to the cop dramas of the 70s. Joaquin Phoenix's expression works, Mark Wahlberg's does not. It's almost as if he's staring off at something that confuses him. Perhaps it's the cue cards.

Review:

If The Departed and 54 had a child, this is what it might look like. There is a substantial amount of formula flowing through this trailer. Wahlberg and Phoenix are talented actors, but this film looks like a waste of that talent.

Oscar Prospects:

If we're shocked with a quality film, this could be a contender, but it's doubtful after having watched this trailer, which makes the film more of an action film than a crime drama.
