Preview: Strike (2007)

Review:

Only minimally engaging, this poster befits a Hollywood film more than it does a German production. The design of the title is the most interesting part of the poster, but there are too many similarities to Pink Floyd's The Wall to give it much credence.

• Trailer: C+

Review:

North Country didn't succeed at the box office and it was in English. This film, while well intentioned, fits into a well-worn mold that looks a bit too much like Norma Rae. The trailer certainly doesn't give the viewer a radically different perception of this.

Oscar Prospects:

Germany could do well to submit the film but I'm doubtful it will make the final five Foreign Language Film slots but an outpouring of critical support could benefit the film greatly.
