There's style to the poster, but it seems a bit obvious. Ocean's 13 did a somewhat similar poster last year using a playing card as their main theme, this poster while admittedly less cluttered isn't very much an improvement.
The same, but different. It has some color inversions and, in order to highlight one of its stars (and possibly because Kevin Spacey's ego wouldn't allow himself to be left off the poster), the poster now includes a new character on the first card, sitting behind the others. His positioning behind these youngsters is fitting to the plot, but seems utterly unnecessary.
This looks like a young adult-friendly version of Ocean's Eleven except without the comedy bent. Kevin Spacey's typical overreacting nearly ruins the preview, but there are enough somewhat interesting touches to make it seem like it could be surprisingly good much like Go was.
If horror films are the least popular with Academy members, gambling films appear to be right near the bottom with them. There have been very few and very far between that have earned even token Academy recognition. This is too young skewing to compete.
I have not seen this film.
