Since the film is from the producers and director of City of God and the film is portrayed as a pseudo-sequel, it's not unsurprising that the poster carries the coloration and style of the original. This doesn't make it any more interesting than the original, however.
The first film was wildly over-praised and this one just doesn't seem to feel right. City of God was at least interesting from the aspect of children being forced by society/poverty into criminal activity, but this film seems to ignore children for the most part, but otherwise just throws up the same violent imagery and situations of the first film.
I don't see this sequel succeeding at the Oscars the way the first film did. There will be too much deja-vu factor.
I have not seen this film.
