What a marvellous, creative poster, blending jazz trumpet, old-style marquee signs and a faint image of the film. There is no question this film is about the blues.

• Trailer: B

Review:

Not necessarily the greatest execution of a trailer, it promises a film noir set around blues and jazz musicians that looks exquisitely designed. If the plot can match that, then it might be one of those underground success stories.

Oscar Prospects:

It's possible, if the film is wildly successful, that it could end up with some music nominations and possibly Art Direction or Cinematography nods.
