Preview: Elite Squad (2008)

Review:

This isn't the kind of poster that draws an audience. Done in the style of a foreign radical, the poster is only partially interesting, but the three film scenes at the top actually make it feel too traditional.

Review:

After seeing the trailer for City of Men and having experienced City of God, the same style of filmmaking is starting to get old, though this does at least look slightly more interesting than City of Men.

Oscar Prospects:

City of God was a surprise success with the Oscars and this film could follow in its footsteps, but without Fernando Meireilles at the helm, I'm not sure Elite Squad will gain any traction.
