Preview: Forever Strong (2008)

Review:

For having a thoroughly unexceptioanl trailer, the poster for the film is better than I would have expected. Using muted brown tones, the coloration and image selection is incredibly effective, even if it does use the rather tedious mid-poster title break scheme.

Review:

We will always have these sports inspirational dramas flooding the marketplace, even if the outcome is always the same. After all, what's an inspirational, getting-your-life-straight movie without a positive conclusion. The only differences are often the origins of the character that must overcome the film's obstacles. It's paint-by-numbers storytelling at its most irritating.

Oscar Prospects:

While the sports genre is a bit better represented at the Oscars than horror films, it's clear this isn't the kind to grab voters' attentions.
