While there's something slightly clever about the leaning tree (no doubt a slight reference to the tree in the front yard the family patriarch has promised to get rid of), the line-up of stars and plain white background are just too simplistic and unexceptional to warrant much attention.
It's good to see many of these actors in a film together. They are among the screen's more talented second-tier actors. However, the film does seem a bit too traditional for its own sake.
We haven't seen a Christmas-themed film at the Oscars in some time. This won't be the film to do it.
