Certainly an interesting visual gesture to the film's pot...I mean plot. Standing on the precipice of life, the poster adds a measure of meaning to the film's theme that isn't adequately expressed in the trailer.
While pairing the poster and the trailer together to create a universal meaning is effective, most people aren't going to have the benefit of both. The trailer is sufficient to explain the plot in a nutshell, but the emotional and psychological effects of the film aren't easily felt.
I don't see this being an Oscar contender, simply because of the plot.
I have not seen this film.
