Review:

Void of common sense visuals or flashy subtext, a simple poster of Van Damme looking beaten and tired does not make for an enticing image except perhaps to his legions of fans, which is presumably for whom this film is intended.

Review:

Being John Malkovich was not written as a vehicle for Malkovich, but it did feature him prominently. JCVD is clearly written with the action star in mind, taking him on an non-credible journey into fictional bank heist territory.

Oscar Prospects:

Serious movie or not, this is not Van Damme's return to cinema hearts and isn't likely to be embraced the way Mickey Rourke has been.
