Keke Palmer's smile alone gives this poster some class. It's sly and devious, but loving at the same time. The rest of the poster is dull in a way that I can't effectively describe it.
Were there not so many stereotypical flourishes featured in this underdog tale, it might be an affecting movie. As it stands, it feels like second-rate tripe that would only be rescued by Palmer.
Inspirational sports comedies have been trying hard to get Oscar recognition, but there's little doubt this will be one of the first in a long while. There have been more noble efforts in the past and there are even stronger contenders releasing just this year.
I have not seen this film.
