When I first saw the poster, I was confused by it. Then, I saw the trailer. It makes significantly more sense now, though there's something about it that does make me uncomfortable, largely because the white hand looks like it might be trying to trush the black person's throat and this isn't a horror film.
Moderately interesting from the looks of the trailer. Alfre Woodard and Kathy Bates certainly make it look more interesting than your standard Tyler Perry films, but even without these two fine actresses, the concept and plotting certainly seems more challenging than his past "romantic" features.
Tyler Perry isn't the first name to which Oscar voters rush, but with Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard in the cast, it's quite possible they might take a second notice, especially after recent critic triumphs. But it's still a long shot at best.
I have not seen this film.
