Much like the trailer, this poster is hardly anything noteworthy. Featuring Audrey Tautou on the cover in a Marilyn Monroe/Madonna style position is not particularly effective and the overbearing teal only enhances the annoyance.
The producers of this trailer have gone to great lengths to mask the fact that this is a foreign lingo pic. Sure, Audrey Tautou has starred in an English-language flick, but it's clear from the few snippets of French that make their way into the preview that it's not in English. That fact isn't a deciding factor on quality. The simplistic plot and seemingly wooden performances would comment on the quality.
Oscar tends to ignore lighter fare when it comes to its Foreign Language Film category. France typically understands that philosophy, but missed the boat last year on several films with better chances than the animated Persepolis which didn't even make the finals.
I have not seen this film.
