Far too similar to the new X-Files poster, this silhouette of bond with a gun doesn't evoke the film's title and only marginally encourages an audience, which is built in regardless of how awful the poster itself is.
One of the year-end's most anticipated movies finally has a trailer to look at. Avoiding any hint of the actual plot, save for the idea of revenge and duty being interchangable to Bond, this trailer is exciting without being revelatory. Lots of action, but nothing that gives too much away. However, the comparative look of the action sequences to the first Daniel Craig Bond film is a bit disconcerting. We can hope for some distinctiveness.
This new trailer gives me the opposite feeling of the teaser. It looks hopelessly bland and lacks the adventurous feel of the Bond franchise. Not even the music evokes a sense of anticipation.
Casino Royale didn't do exceptionally well with the Academy, though the Bond series has always had its ups and downs. Box office success will be the film's reward as the Academy isn't likely to take notice unless the title song is a smash.
A weak follow up to the terrific Casino Royale, Daniel Craig and Judi Dench are superb as usual, which more than makes up for the rather weak Bond villain and the somewhat unthrilling plot.
