Using colors that are at least pleasing the eye is the poster's only saving grace. Putting the wedding in blurred focus behind Anne Hathaway's disconcerned expression succinctly captures her opinion of marriage, but otherwise says little about the film and isn't likely to draw an audience.
I'm not overwhelmingly impressed by the trailer, but Jonathan Demme's name attached to it does give it some credibility that might have been absent in a newer or less experienced director's hands. Still, there's something offputting about the film that makes it seem like it could very well be a dismally received film, but there are other elements that suggest it may be universally praised. It's too early to tell for sure.
This is either going to be an indie success or an indie failure. It's hard to tell, but Anne Hathaway does look better than she ever has been.
I have not seen this film.
