It's rather rudimentary and not very showy. That matches the plot well enough, but I would have expected something a little more Miller's Crossing meets Fargo as this looks to be a dark comedy in that vein.
The trailer isn't very exciting. It does have some promise in projecting the idea that this hired killer is going to scare the debt-laden gambler straight, but there isn't as much substance here as one might expect.
This could be an indie darling considering its pick up from Sundance, but without a set release date, I'm not sure we can know what to expect, even if it gets released this year. However, while the Spirit Awards might be a destination for the film, the Oscars is not.
I have not seen this film.
