It is exceedingly simple, which provides for the poster's primary elegance. The image is soft and suggestive while the white background blends with the imgae well.
For a movie that will no doubt be in excessive of two hours, there sure is very little going on here. While Little Children was similarly themed, it had a lot of parallel action. From this trailer, that doesn't appear to be the case, but with Kathy Bates involved, there's got to be a lot more to this story.
There will certainly be talk of Oscar nominations for Kate Winslet, Leondardo DiCaprio and the trailer-absent Kathy Bates. However, Winslet has another film competing for buzz this year and this film, while it is a period film, doesn't appear to have a lot of what the Academy wants in its Oscar nominees. Hopefully there's a deeper story here.
Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio give stellar performances as a married couple whose union is unravelling because of the pressures put on them by the outside world and their own internal struggles.
