Entirely obvious in its symbolism, the poster's colors are less than exciting, even though missile-like projectile of the Cuban flag colors is appropriate, it seems like it would be more adeptly associated with a film about the Cuban Missile Crisis, not with modern Cuban relations.
The trailer doesn't do an effective job of detailing what it's about. It's a difficult task without giving away your ultimate conclusion, but with documentaries, being aloof is hardly engaging and is more than likely to alienate the viewer than encourage her.
With the early release, I wouldn't be surprised if it was eligible for 2007 documentary consideration, not 2008. Regardless, I don't think it will figure into 2008's race if it is eligible.
I have not seen this film.
