Anyone who already knows the original will recognize the four co-leads who appear on the poster. Unfortunately, that's all there is. There's no intriguing design. There's no splash of color. It's a rather humdrum, unexceptional piece of art.
While watching the teaser, I was half-convinced I was just watching the first film again. Then, they had all of the girls in Greece and I knew it wasn't the same. However, despite my enjoyment of the first feature, this one looks tired and desperate.
Now, here's a reminder of the film I was surprised I liked so much. The sequel does look like it will take a more dramatic role and keep some of the same wit and sparkle of the original. The trailer still spends a good portion looking back at the first film, which isn't really necessary, but it contains enough of the scenes from the sequel that make it seem more interesting.
The first film was an Oscar no-show. This film should be the same.
I have not seen this film.
