POSTERS

Preview: Synecdoche, New York (2008)

  • Poster: C

Review:

It's a chaotic city scape that doesn't give any impression of what the film is about and other than the title, there's very little connection to the film itself.

  • Trailer: B+

Review:

While I'm not the biggest Philip Seymour Hoffman fan, this film certialny looks like an interesting exploration of the human psyche, much like Kaufman's other films Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Oscar Prospects:

Charlie Kaufman should be watched for. The film takes a more minimized surrealist approach than Eternal Sunshine, but that didn't stop the Academy from recognizing that feature, so look for a potential Kaufman nod again this year.
