Simple and detailed, the poster for Tuya's Marriage is really nothing special, but it's not as oppressive as many other posters put out this year, so it gets credit for that. The colors are soft and evocative without being overbearing.
This film looks to explore the cultural distinctiveness that sets it apart, focusing on the family unit and the pursuit of love that is often hampered by an unwell relative. The festival plaudits didn't make it seem that much more exciting and for the most part, the trailer seemed rather subdued and limited in emotional content.
This isn't an Oscar contender, it may very well be a submission to the Foreign Language Film competition, but I don't think it will make it to the semi-finals.
I have not seen this film.
