A placeholder with a date, that should be worth something, right? Nope.
The part of me that enjoyed the feuding assassins of Mr. & Mrs. Smith is attracted immediately to the film. Not only do you have some relatively fine actors, but you also have gun-toting violence and fancy stunts. The critic in me is reticent to see the film fearing it may just be another lame summer shoot-out devoid of narrative merit.
This new trailer is intensely exciting and makes it really seem like the kind of populist film that mixes quality effects, effective performances and a plot that is of significantly better quality than the typical lame tent pole flick.
With too many similarities to the second trailer this "final" trailer doesn't give us too much more information and certainly doesn't do a better job of piquing our interests. Nevertheless, the concept and execution at least look appealing. Whether its substantively enjoyable will depend on an actual viewing of the film.
Mr. & Mrs Smith didn't earn Oscar recognition, so I'm doubtful this film would, but if it can break in, I would expect a nomination in the Sound Editing category if nowhere else.
I have not seen this film.
