Preview: 17 Again (2009)

Synopsis:

Matthew Perry despises his life and wishes he could go back and relive it differently, fixing the mistakes he made. When he wakes up and discovers that he's actually seventeen years old (and now in the body of Zac Efron), he embarks on a journey of self-discovery.

Review:

Although the bright white background is significantly distracting, the concept is solid, just not executed in the best way. However, it should suffice to draw in the Zac Efron teen-girl fanbase that was obviously the impetus for the film.

Review:

Looking just like every other "wish I was younger"/"oh god I'm younger" fish out of water Freaky Friday embodiement, Matthew Perry looks to have another dud on his hands.

Slightly more interesting than the first film, this second trailer doesn't do a lot to entice any but the teenage crush audience to the theater. We've seen the concept so many times that it will be fairly easy to avoid it.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
