A documentary following four individuals as they prepare to sing for the Middle East's version of American Idol and the controversy and hatred built up around the competition from the Muslim world.
The microphone cord as a binding element is very fitting to the subject, but the colors of the poster are a bit unusual and act as more of a distraction than as an assistance.
The idea that women would participate in a singing competition against Islamic law makes this documentary more interesting than anything. And with the obvious focus on the hatred of the people watching the competition, this should at least be involving.
If the Academy werent' so stuffy in its nominating procedures, I could definitely see this film picking up an Oscar nomination. It's controversial and it's about the oppression of women, which should be good for several votes.
I have not seen this film.
