Preview: The Boys: The Sherman Brothers' Story (2009)

Synopsis:

A documentary from Disney about the legendary sibling songwriting duo Richard and Robert Sherman.

Review:

Surrounding the incredibly young Sherman Brothers with a musical staff and small images from various films to which they wrote the music is at least thematically sound, but doesn't look terribly interesting. And having Walt's visage emblazoned above the Sherman Brothers seems a bit too egotistical...even for a dead man.

Review:

Learning more about the Sherman Brothers is made all the more interesting when we get to hear from the brothers themselves and watch archival footage of them working and their discussions with Walt as well as his personal thoughts on the two.

Oscar Prospects:

The entertainment industry occasionally likes to recognize its own, thus why there are periodically documentaries about film history in the Feature category. However, I'm not sure if this will be one of those kinds of docs.
