Review:

Unlike the poster for Easy Virtue, this poster seems to have some style and grace, although the colors are still a bit to bland.

Designed mostly to capitalize on Michelle Pfeiffer's sexiness, the poster tries to seduce the audience into watching, as exemplified in the tagline of the poster. However, while a solid promotional tool, it isn't as visually stimulating as it probably could have been.

Review:

This period romance seems like it could be good based on the presences of Michelle Pfeiffer and Kathy Bates, but it doesn't, at first glimpse, look like a very inspired or important film.

Oscar Prospects:

I have no doubt this film will be pushed for Pfeiffer and Bates to get acting noms as well as trophies for Costume Design and Art Direction. However, Miramax isn't what it used to be and I'm not sure such an early release will engender the film to Oscar voters as easily without Harvey Weinstein's vast input.
