The third stop motion animated film from producer Tim Burton following a young girl who discovers an alternate reality through a small door in her home.
From a distance, this looks like any old animated film, not a stop-motion type flick. The tagline, while fitting, seems unnecessary except to explain the unusual position Coraline is in on the poster...especially if one hasn't seen the trailer yet to know exactly what it is.
Stylistically brilliant and filled with flair and passion, the trailer is devoid of any real semblance of a plot, which could be a problem for older audiences who mean as much to this type of film's success as the younger audiences.
Releasing early doesn't help and after the failure of the last stop-motion animated project like this, The Corpse Bride, I'm sure it will be liked, but not well enough to earn an Oscar nomination, even in Best Animated Feature.
An amazing stop-motion achievement.
