Preview: Delhi 6 (2009)

Synopsis:

An American of Indian-descent travels to India for the first time to attend to his ailing grandmother only to discover a place he had never fully known.

Review:

The border is detailed and interesting, but the main image is taken directly from the film. If there is a deeper meaning than a man surveying a new world, then it is not well conveyed by this poster.

• Trailer: C+

Review:

While there is a visual style to the trailer that is interesting, it is so long and drawn-out that it's easy to become bored quickly. The film's reason for being isn't terribly clear from this trailer which will frustrate all but the most dedicated Bollywood fans.

Oscar Prospects:

Bollywood just doesn't do well at the Oscars, last year's Slumdog Millionaire win notwithstanding. But I don't think this film will be able to carry forward any manner of trend.
