A period war drama about two women and the men in their lives.
Other than giving you a quick glimpse of makeup and hairstyling that puts the story squarely in the past, there is very little of note here and even Keira Knightly isn't as noticeable, which may kill some of the film's chances for a wide audience.
The trailer earns a high rating from the lucious visuals. However, there isn't much of a plot here, at least one that hasn't been run into the ground so many times. Releasing in March suggests a similar fate to The Other Boleyn Girl which ended up, despite strong pedigree, a box office disappointment and a nearly-forgotten Oscar contender.
Art Direction and Costume Design are both outstanding as displayed in the trailer, but the Cinematography also seems a cut above. However, I'm not sure the film will make it to the Oscars.
I have not seen this film.
