A noted stand up comedian (Adam Sandler) praises the work of a new comic (Seth Rogen) who then shares his life as he combats a terminal illness and an ex-girlfriend (Leslie Mann) who "got away".
There was no poster immediately available for my review. Should one become available in the future, this section will be updated.
There's nothing in this trailer that suggests Judd Apatow is abandoning his comic roots even despite a lack of funny moments and a great deal of serious subject matter. If this is a comedy, the trailer certainly didn't show that very well.
There will be talk about the film being an Oscar contender. There always is. The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up were both touted as potential vehicles for script nominations and a couple of acting prizes. No such recognition ever materialized at the Oscars. Make this the third film that will likely follow that trajectory.
I have not seen this film.
