Chris Rock explores the world of black hair and the multi-million dollar industry built around straighteners, weaves and other dangerous and costly follicular procedures.
The first thing I thought of when looking at the poster was that we were getting a film about Chris Rock as a hairdresser in the vein of Barbershop, which is a bit misleading.
It looks exceptionally fun despite being a serio-comic documentary about women trying to meet the expectations of society.
Despite being a former Oscar host, Chris Rock is very unlikely to earn a nomination for this film, even if it is good, because humor documentaries are very hard to sell to voters.
I have not seen this film.
