Preview: Home (2009)

Synopsis:

Looking to buy a home that reminds her of her childhood, a mother battles wills with her disinterested husband while attempting to fully relate to her young daughter.

Review:

Drawn stylistically from an image in the trailer, the poster breaks the soft cloudy sky with still images of Marcia Gay Harden and her daughter as well as critic and festival laurels. It's as plain and standard as most posters developed today.

• Trailer: C+

Review:

Marcia Gay Harden certainly makes the film more interesting than it likely his, but it seems to be a sad, moping preview that won't give audiences a warm feeling, leading them to more than likely skip the film altogether.

Oscar Prospects:

I'm sure there will be some small push for an honor or two for Gay Harden, but I doubt it will result in Oscar recognition.
