A documentary about African singer Youssou Ndour, a well respected musical artist whose religious album sparks outrage from purists even though he is trying to explain its positive qualities to an audience outside the Muslim world.
The poster has some beautiful colors and the background, middle ground and foreground images are all nicely orchestrated to creative a modestly evocative layout. The lettering is a bit week and the column nature feels overused.
Although I'm sure his story is an interesting one and I'm supportive of religious tolerance, if only as a means to curb the violence opposing religions feel they must inflict on one another, I'm little impressed by the trailer as a tool to motivate audiences to the theater.
We have a very large pool of documentaries to choose from this year and, with the animosities in the Middle East, it's possible this film could his a resonating chord within the Academy, but in the end, I think it will fall to something far more controversial or political.
I have not seen this film.
