An '80s period drama about several characters, both rich and not, who interact in a world of superficial sex and drugs while teetering on the edge of losing control.
The perfectly life as exemplified by a mannequin is no doubt the concept behind this poster, but a lot of people aren't going to get that and it's bland enough that it probably won't attract a wide audience by itself.
The music alone makes the trailer better, but the concept behind it is a bit distracting. I had never seriously thought about stories being told about the decade I grew up in. It's almost surreal watching this trailer unfold on screen because it has some staggering authenticity, but less than three decades isn't really hard to capture that realism. The story itself doesn't seem that intriguing.
The sympathy factor has been played out and the lake Brad Renfro's performance, even if exquisite, won't be up for Oscar consideration unless the entire film, releasing far too early in the year, is more of a contender.
