Review:

Ricky Gervais understands comedy quite well. And the concept behind this film, almost a 360-degree flip of the modern conceit that everyone lies so much that the truth is hard to spot easily, is a strong one and sure to post a lot of strong questions about how we deal with one another.

Oscar Prospects:

Gervais isn't exactly a Hollywood name and comedy is nearly anathema to the Academy, so don't expect the film to do well unless critics and audiences fall all over it, at which point a writing nomination could be a possibility.
