Preview: Killing Kasztner (2009)

Synopsis:

A documentary about a Hungarian Jew who negotiated the lives of thousands during the Holocaust with one of the most feared Nazi's, Adolf Eichmann.

Review:

The colors are poorly chosen and the image of Kasztner is overused for seemingly little purpose.

  • Trailer: B

Review:

The poster set in my mind, and the film likewise, that this could very easily be adapted into a feature film starring Liev Schreiberg, who bares an uncanny resemblance to the title individual. The story is certainly interetsing enough and could be a spring board for future endeavors.

Oscar Prospects:

I don't know how this kind of film will go over with the Academy. It's about a man saving lives during the Holocaust, but even the Jews labeled him as a man who sold his soul to the devil. It's hard to tell which way Academy voters would go, so I'm erring on the side of caution and saying it won't be nominated.
