An inner city high school produces top notch chefs in this documentary about a culinary class and its high-pressure results.
Garish. The overabundance of red makes this seem more like some Valentine's Day cooking special than a documentary about challenged high school chefs. The student peeking up over the top of the cookbook adds to the cheesey qualities of the poster.
This seems like an odd idea for a documentary, but what's presented embodies the intrigue of a cooking competition show (like Iron Chef or Hell's Kitchen) with an actual realistic, non-scripted result.
I haven't seen it, nor will I likely get to, but I can't help but feel I want to root for it to get a nomination, though I'm not sure it can succeed.
I have not seen this film.
